Costumers of Color, Inc. is dedicated to making the world of historical costuming a welcoming space for people of color. In a hobby traditionally dominated by a narrow perspective, we believe that historical costuming and public history should reflect the broad-ranging world we live in. Through scholarships, educational events, historical trips, and a firm commitment to building a safe, multicultural community, we’re working to break down barriers, elevate multicultural voices, and celebrate the many histories that make up our global community. Thanks to them we are fully funded for our 2024 scholarship, we sold out our inaugural 18th-century Chevalier event, and we had support to lead 12 travelers in Italy in late winter and spring.
